Minutes of Parish Council Meeting on 7 July 2022 held at Dry Doddington Village Hall at 7.30 pm

 

Present           Cllrs B Lett (Chair), V Birnage, J Forman, H Martell, County Cllr A Maughan, the clerk W McCallin and two members of the public. 

Public Forum    The organising groups for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee events were congratulated on successful celebrations, including the volunteers erecting Jubilee Oak tree seats on both greens. £525 was raised in Dry Doddington for the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) for Ukraine Humanitarian appeal.  

37/22   Apologies were received from Cllrs T Arnold, A Durham, S Woodward and District Cllr P Wood.  

38/22   Minutes of the meeting on 5 May 2022 were confirmed by council and signed by the Chair.

39/22   Community Benefit Fund (CBF)   Council approved the following projects:
a)   Budget of £160 for Westborough tree seat fixings and surrounds, £80 for stainless steel tree seat plaque.
b)   Ongoing projects include Westborough hard standing, Westborough churchyard mort, Dry Doddington village green winter fencing.

c)  A CBF working group meeting was arranged for Thursday 28th July at Dry Doddington.

40/22   Finance
a)   Council approved payments for £18 for  volunteer mowing expenses,   LALC training course fee £27.60,  Westborough Church Path £1,800, Westborough Jubilee grant £210.
Payments already made for Jubilee grant S137 of £837.43, Jubilee tree seat plaques £148.
Receipt of Community cleaner grant of £463.32

41/22   County Councillor’s report was given by Cllr Alex Maughan on the 18 month delay to the Grantham relief road, Maths skills funding in Lincs and the bid for increased highways funding with the forthcoming change of Prime Minister.  

42/22   Clerk’s report / Matters arising    A update on the progress of getting grants for Dry Doddington church floor and renovations has been circulated.

43/22   Public Forum    Comments included fly tipping reports, availability of the community strimmer, addition of plants to entrance gates and vegetation cutting around signs.

44/22   Matters for Urgent Discussion   Council agreed to request more information from the architect re pre application for the frontage site of Turnstyle works. Deadline for comments on planning application for a Livery yard and temporary accommodation on Clensey Lane is 12 July and for The Wheatsheaf pub works is 22 July.

45/22   Date of next meeting confirmed as – Thursday 6 October, 7.30pm at Westborough Village Hall.
