Minutes of Parish Council Meeting on 6 October 2022
held at Westborough Village Hall at 7.30 pm
Present Cllrs A Durham (Chair), T Arnold, B Lett, V Birnage, J Forman, Woodward and District Cllr P Wood, the clerk W McCallin and four members of the public.
Public Forum The council was asked to continue protecting Dry Doddington Green from vehicle damage in winter.
46/22 Apologies were received from Cllrs H Martell, County Cllr A Maughan.
47/22 Minutes of the meeting on 7 July 2022 were confirmed by council and signed by the Chair.
48/22 Planning
Mrs Lesley was invited to speak on the proposed residential development of three bungalows at Hillcrest, Dry Doddington. Council has no objection to the proposal and welcomes the bungalows over houses and the retention of existing trees and hedges.
49/22 Community Benefit Fund (CBF) Council approved the following projects:
a) Council approved the project for Westborough Village Hall toilets in principle and proposed further research into grants and additional quote via the CBF working group
b) Council agreed a small working group to progress a plan for Dry Doddington village green winter fencing for LCC highways approval
c) A Whitebeam tree will be planted on the Village Green between the Church tower and field hedge to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
d) The request for £500 funding for Dry Doddington Village Hall will discussed by CBF working group.
50/22 Finance
a)Council approved payments to Environment SK of £58.66, clerk half year salary and expenses of £600, volunteer expenses for Dry Doddington Green plants £159.38; Westborough mowing £75 and £65, Dry Doddington Village hall hedge £23.96, litter pickers £20.85, Westborough seat installation expenses £161.69.
Payments already made for Environ SK mowing £175.97, One Electrical £972, Volunteer expenses £109.14 for white lining and signpost erection.
51/22 District Councillor’s report was given by Cllr Paul Wood on the sale of SKDC council offices, watching SKDC meetings on YouTube and the Long Bennington gypsy site planning appeal.
52/22 Clerk’s report / Matters arising
a) A wayleave with Western Power has been signed for the pole on Westborough Church Green,
b) The Parish Council has given permission for digging holes on the Green for Dry Doddington church foundation survey.
